Our Trainers
Ms. Lisa Cohen
Born in North Carolina, Lisa Cohen received her early racing experience in the Blue Grass state of Kentucky. Lisa currently represents the interests of Sapphire Lodge Racing in Australia. She, along with her Co-Trainer Oldrich Jiricka apprenticed to Group 1 Trainer Chris Waller.
Her American racing apprenticeship under the tutelage of American Hall of Fame Trainer Mr. Grover “Bud” Delp at Pimlico Racecourse, occurred during the brilliant racing career of “Spectacular Bid” – who is widely regarded as one Of America’s greatest ever racehorses having won nine Group 1 races.
Lisa’s former academic research conducted under the University of California Physicist, Professor Kenneth Ganezar, Ph.D., University of California Berekely, resulted in the “Bone Mineral Density” exam used widely by physicians today to prevent chronic bone deterioration.
This research experience has allowed Lisa to gather and analyze data efficiently concerning your individual horse; and to effectively apply it to keeping your equine athlete’s bones strong to prevent injuries that typically occur while racing.
Her invaluable experience working with veterinary surgeons at The Randwick Equine Veterinary Centre, as well as Scone Veterinary Hospital will provide the assurance you need to know that your horse will receive excellent care and stay racing longer -- giving you the opportunity to be part of a Australia’s great racing tradition without the unnecessary excessive costs.
